
Red should resolve his forward position before leaving the anchor on White’s ace-point.
The point he most wants to make is his 3-pt and so 17/9 is the correct way to play this 62. If Red leaves now with 24/18, 8/6 it gives White chances of a counterattack and his 33 and 11 become very good rolls.
Admittedly his 51 becomes a horror roll but that is not sufficient compensation for leaving the anchor prematurely.
As you can see from the rollout any move other 17/9 is a bad error.
