Match Play. Red leads 4-2 to 7. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

White doesn’t have the timing for a 2-3 back game. He also has an open 5-pt and a dilly builder on his 2-pt.

All of these factors point to a huge drop.

Could Red be too good to double, especially as an undoubled gammon gets him to the Crawford Game? The answer is that it is very close but Red should cash the point. Also, you never know, White may think his 2-3 game is good enough to take. I have seen worse positions take, believe me.
