Match Play. 4-4 to 11. How should Red play 44?
This one caught me by surprise. I played bar/21, 18/14(2), 13/9*which turns out to be a quadruple blunder.
The bar-point anchor must be held to facilitate the escape of the checker on the 21-pt (after it enters). Therefore bar/21, 13/9* are virtually forced. After that making the rack with 8/4(2) is hugely better than any other move. So the full solution is bar/21, 13/9*, 8/4(2).
Every other move is at least a double blunder.
An instructive position I think you will agree.
