Blue must get one checker to the 23-pt with 24/23. After that it is a close call between trying to win and trying to save the gammon.
For the win Blue should play 24/23, 8/7*, 3/2(2). For the gammon save 24/23(3), 3/2 is best. Neither play is even an error with only 0.018 points of equity between them.
It’s your choice which game plan you select. Just pick one and then close your eyes!! At DMP clearly the hitting play would be correct.
