Match Play. Red leads 5-2 to 11. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

Red is ahead in Position, Race and Threat and has made the rack (6-, 5- and 4-pts). Meanwhile White’s board has a gap on the 4-pt and he has a checker on the bar.

This is a huge double. At an even score it would be a huge pass as well. At this score White nearly has a take but not quite, although it is close.

Many would hold off as Red because of leading the match but Red can use all four points from a gammon win which would get him to 2-away, 9 away.

Not doubling is a blunder.
