Match Play. Double Match Point? How should Red play 65?


Red’s army is split into two camps, and he needs to create a bridge. This can only be done with 22/16, 21/16.


Once you see this play it is obvious. The trick is to see the move as a candidate play.

Any other move is at least double blunder. Red must recognise he is not in a back game but in a holding game. That bridge is absolutely vital. Did you see the need to make the 16-pt?
