Match Play. Blue trails 4-6 to 9? How should Blue play 44?


This is very close between 24/16*, 14/10, 13/9 and 24/16*, 6/2(2) and nobody should be faulted for making either play.


24/16*, 6/2(2) is slightly stronger because it wins more gammons. That one extra home board point makes a small but significant difference.


A difficult problem to get exactly right but as long as you hit with 24/16* you can’t go too far wrong.
