Match Play. Red leads 10-8 to 11 (post-Crawford). How should Red play 42?


This is quite close but playing with one blot is better than two in this position. White will struggle to contain that single blot.


It would be good for Red to develop his stacked 6-pt but that will have to wait. The first priority is to escape that rear checker. Bar/23, 6/2* is not even a technical error but it is not the best move. Bar/23/19, racing when ahead, is the correct move.
