Unlimited Games. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?
My apologies, this problem was wrongly titled. It is Unlimited Games not Match Play.
This is the sort of double that is often missed over the board.
Despite being down in the race Rad has a strong position because of White’s weaknesses:
· Stranded rear checker
· Poor connectivity
· Two inner board blots plus a dilly builder on the 3-pt
plus, the strength of his own home board.
A quarter of the games end in a gammon for Red. Not doubling here is a blunder. Of course, White has an easy take.
