This looks very scary for White but whatever happens he will have his 3-pt anchor. Now consider that a fan by Red followed by 43, 44, 45, 46 for White happens 175/1296 times and you begin to get the idea that this might be take.
And a take it is by 0.069, so it is a fairly comfortable take. I think over the board many would drop as White did but looked at dispassionately you can see how this does become a take. Not doubling as Red would be a double blunder.
