Match Play. Red leads 5-2 to 9. How should Red play 33?
NOTE: I initially published an incorrect solution to this problem. This is the correct version.
“The Rack”, the 6-, 5- and 4-pts, is an immensely strong structure. When you add the 3-pt and 2-pt it becomes “the beast”. Nobody has yet coined a term for the four-point prime of the 6-, 5-, 4- and 3-pts.
Building the rack with 8/5(2), 6/3(2) is by far the strongest play here. 24/15*, 13/10 comes a distant second but it is a blunder. Normally assets outweigh the threat to build assets and that is the case here.
Anybody care to suggest a name for the 6-, 5-, 4- and 3-pts?
