Firstly, we note that White has rolled a 55 and is well ahead in the race. Under those circumstances it is incorrect to split (because it allows your opponent a blitz attack) and that is the case here. Any splitting play is a blunder. 6/3, 5/3 makes a point but looks stiff and inflexible.
The correct play is two down with 13/11, 13/10 which gives a very flexible position and lots of point-building potential.
