Money Play. How should Red play 42?

13/9, 6/4* is the DMP play but not the right idea here as it will draw a double from White because of the gammon chances.

5/3, 5/1 is perfectly acceptable as White will have to compromise his position next turn.

The best play, by a whisker, is 13/7. This preserves Red’s board and puts more pressure on White’s rear blot. However, it is only 0.014 better than the safe play so either is perfectly OK. The key is to avoid 13/9, 6/4* because of the cube.
