Match Play. Red leads 1-0 to 5. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

For money, this is an uncomfortable but correct take for White because Red has only two home board points made, and White has several ways to win, despite (but sometimes because) he has his ace-point made.

However, at this score a gammon loss, and 25% of Red’s wins are gammons, costs White the match and that is too high a price to pay. Stop me if I have said this before but ‘in short matches the score normally dominates the cube decisions.’
