Match Play. Red leads 4-1 to 5 (post-Crawford). How should Red play 32?
This is close but the pure 8/3* wins out over the other plays.
10/5 is too passive and while it loses fewer gammons it doesn’t pick up enough extra wins to compensate.
6/3*/1*, which is technically an error, only wins the same percentage of gammons as 8/3*, probably because of the strength of White’s home board.
