Unlimited Games. How should Red play 42?
This is not the type of position where Red can kill checkers with 6/4, 6/2 or 6/2, 4/2. Those soldiers need to be on the field of battle. This leaves a choice between 12/6 and 13/7.
13/7 leaves more shots but crucially, only exposes one checker. As a result, 12/6 is very nearly a blunder.
That leaves 13/7 as the only viable move.
