Money Play. How should Red play 63?
This was a technical oversight by me. I played 8/5, 8/2 without looking at future rolls, thinking that the distribution of checkers after that play was better. However, always look at specific rolls. After that move 53 and 65 are horrible next time and 55 is not great. 8/5, 8/2 is actually a blunder.
The old backgammon maxim: “clear from the rear and don’t ask questions” applies here. 9/6, 9/3 is the right move.
