Unlimited Games. How should Red play 33?

After bar/22 the best point to make is White’s bar-point with 21/18(2), giving Red a key communication point. The final three would then be played 6/3.

This is better than making the 10-pt because that move could strand the three rear checkers and leave Red’s forces disconnected.

In fact, bar/22, 13/10(2), 6/3 is very nearly a blunder. Remember, good communication is normally a key element of a strong backgammon position
