Unlimited Games. How should Red play 43?

Red could make his 3-pt with 7/3, 6/3 but as he will be 16 pips up after the roll he should be seeking the best way to bring his checkers home safely.

To do that he should play 10/7, 10/6. This clears the awkward 10-pt and provides a new landing point for the mid-point checkers.

7/3, 6/3 is a mistake rather than an error but knowing the correct approach here is the key to the solution. With a closer race making the 3-pt and blocking sixes would be correct but here 10/7, 10/6 is the right move.
