Match Play. 0-3 to 7. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

For money it is close, but this would be no double/take. White’s ace-point anchor and his better home board ensure the take is trivial. That should provide a clue for the match-play situation.

White can use two or four points efficiently, so it is likely to be a comfortable take. However, Red does trail 0-3 and the position is very volatile. If Red makes the 3-pt and White fans it will be double/pass (or even too good). Therefore, Red should double now to avoid losing his market.

Not doubling is a double blunder and dropping as White is also a double blunder.
