Match Play. Double Match Point. How should Red play 31?

This is actually a pay-me-now, pay-me-later problem.

Over the board I played 6/2 but this wrong. Red is very unlikely to get home safely from his two outer-board stripped points and he will leave multiple indirect shots as he tries to do so.

Better is 4/3*/1* paying now. If White doesn’t roll a 1 next turn Red will very likely have no further problems. It takes courage to leave that ace shot, but it is the right play. 6/2 is an error but not a blunder.

Would you have the courage to make the play in the final of a major tournament?
