Match Play. 4-4 to 7. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

With a lead in the race, a shot and a five-point home board this is a very clear double.

White needs 25% to take at this score but that figure needs to be adjusted for gammons. Assuming a 10% gammon figure White will need 30% to take but he will easily have that here as Red will often have to go from White’s bar-point when he doesn’t want to.

Clear double due to the volatility. Clear take based on White’s long-term game-winning chances.
