Match Play. Red trails 4-10 to 11 (Crawford). How should Red play 54?

Red could play 21/17, 21/16 when White will need to roll a 1 followed by a 6 to tunnel out.

Alternatively, he can play 8/3, 6/2* in which case White needs a 2 followed by a 6.

The difference between the two plays is that in the latter case White will be on the bar. That’s quite a difference and it makes the hitting play correct
