Match Play. Red leads 8-3 to 9 (Crawford). How should Red play 61?

Both players have stripped outer board points, so something has to give.

Red has the choice of leaving 20 shots or 24 shots. Four extra shots is too many when White has such a strong home board. The correct play is 8/2, 3/2 with 8/1 second.

10/3 is a blunder. Red must play 8/2, 3/2, hope that White misses and that he has to give up one of his outer board points.
