Money Play. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?
This is a reasonable practical double because you will get some drops (according to XG you need one drop in eight to make doubling correct and you might get that).
Technically this is no double/take. Red doesn’t have enough threats and he has a lot of work to do to win the game. White has all his checkers in play and a powerful four-and-a-half point prime. The position is deceptive because of those three White checkers on Red’s ace-point but White should be able to release at least one of those without much difficulty.
Technically, doubling is very nearly a blunder but as I said above it is a great practical double.
