Money Play. How should Red play 21?

It would be nice to play 3/1, 2/1 but Red doesn’t have enough time to do that. On average it will take him five rolls to escape the checker from White’s point and he does not have five rolls.

This is a question of priorities and Red’s key priority is to escape the rear checker. The 2 should be played 24/22. The 1 should be played 17/16. If White then rolls 44 you just know it is not your day! However, most of the time the duplication will work well.
