White’s timing is by no means perfect for his 1-3 back game and he has already made his 2-pt. Red should certainly double to activate his gammons and because many might pass as White.
However, White has other ways to win and at the very least he will have a 3-pt holding game. These multiple game plan options give White a very easy take and it is more the double that is in question. Passing as White is very nearly a double blunder.
