Match Play. Red leads 2-0 to 13. Should Red redouble? If redoubled, should White take?
I had this position as Red and my opponent passed my redouble in a nanosecond. XG flagged that as a blunder.
For money the take would be borderline but once again the score proves to be a significant factor. With the cube now on 4 and with the potential go to 8, White has an easy take, which might surprise many.
Red fans on 9 rolls and then White is really in the game. If Red doesn’t hit the race is equal and although Red stands better there is still plenty of work to do. Only if Red hits (eleven rolls) does he have a significant advantage.
At first glance this looks a trivial pass but a longer look tells a different story.
