Match Play. Red trails 2-6 to 9. Should Red redouble? If redoubled, should White take?

It is very close but Red should redouble. When things go well, he will be pleased to have redoubled. He even wins a gammon and the match 6% of the time.

If things go badly which they do most of the time, White will probably win a gammon and the match.

However, Red is not risking a huge amount by redoubling. Many players wouldn’t even think of redoubling here.

Naturally White has a trivial take of Red’s double. Passing would be a 20 times blunder!
