Match Play. Blue leads 2-0 to 9. Should Blue double? If doubled, should White take?
Blue’s structure is very impure with the gap on the 4-pt, the dead checker on the ace-point and the blot on the 2-pt. That gap will create plenty of blot-leaving numbers as Blue bears in.
On the plus side Blue has a fifteen-pip lead in the race and White’s board may crash on the next roll.
All these factors contribute to Blue having a double, but only just. White has a trivial take, dropping would be a huge blunder.
