The 5-pt is the 5-pt and is a long-term asset. White’s blot on his 2-pt isn’t going anywhere and can possibly be picked up later. If White hits from Red’s bar-point he will have to give an incredibly valuable point to do so and in all likelihood there will be multiple return shots for Red.
This is a prime versus prime game and should be played as such. The hitting plays are all double blunders or worse.
The key here is to understand the type of game you are playing and then play to that plan. This 61 is a joker but you must make the right play or else it will be wasted.
