Match Play. Red trails 0-6 to 17. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?

This is a clear double at virtually any score because of the volatility. It is the take that is in question and that depends upon the score.

At this score you can take or drop as White, and you will have identical equities. Any smaller disparity in the score and it becomes an easy take. Any bigger gap and it becomes a pass. The problem is White’s, not Red’s. His action is very clear, this a mandatory double.
