Match Play. 6-6 to 11. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?
There are very few gammons in this position. White has both racing chances and hitting chances but are they enough to take the very obvious double by Red?
Without the cube in play, no, but the potential redoubles are very powerful and they actually give White a comfortable take although it is no bargain.
Move a checker from Red’s 1-pt to his 3-pt and it becomes a massive pass. As noted before, everything matters and that blot on Red’s 3-pt is very relevant.
