Money Play. How should Red play 53?
This is a question of timing. At the moment White is forty pips behind in the race which is not enough to comfortably play a 1-3 back game.
Hitting can only play into his hands by correcting that timing and/or changing his back game points.
The simple 23/20, 13/8 is the right play by a long way. Every other play is a double blunder or worse.
