Match Play. Red leads 4-2 to 7. How should Red play 65?


Despite the risk Red must hit here. His racing deficit is such that he has only about 9% winning chances if he doesn’t hit.


After 13/8* with the five the six should be played 13/7 rather than 9/3 which just exposes another blot and adds no value.


The key here is to accept the fact that the risk of hitting must be accepted.
