Quite a deceptive position. Red’s position looks stronger than it is.
White has some bad entering numbers, e.g., 24 and 26 which are quite scary.
However, White has a sound structure with all his checkers in play and has both priming and blitzing game plans available. Meanwhile Red’s three rear checkers are a long way from the action.
Red has the advantage and should double because he could lose his market and he will win plenty of gammons. Not doubling is an error, but only just. However, White’s take is very easy and dropping would be a double blunder.
