Match Play. Red trails 0-2 to 5. Should Red Redouble? If redoubled, should White take?

Red leaves a shot with fifteen numbers. White will hit in five games which will put the game on the line and make it highly volatile. In a money game Red should hold on to the cube until his next turn at least.

At this match score it is very different. At 3-away vs 5-away White needs 33% winning chances to accept and, of course, he cannot win with the cube.

It turns out that he has precisely 33% winning chances in this position, so he can drop or take Red’s redouble and still make the right decision. Of course, Red must redouble.

Trailing by 2 to 5 this has to be a double for Red and also a take for White given he has chances of hitting a shot.
