Money Play. Should Red double? If doubled, should White take?
An early middle game situation where Red undoubtedly has an edge but is good enough to double?
With only nine checkers in the attack zone Red doesn’t quite have the volatility here to justify a double. Move a checker from his mid-point to his 5-pt and then he has a good double. As it is he should leave the cube in the middle.
Of course, White has a trivial take and hardly anybody would drop this as White. Another reason for Red to wait.
