Unlimited Games. How should Red play 62?

The obvious move here is 24/18, 13/11*.

However, Red trails by 42 pips before the roll so he may want to hold on his 24-pt anchor for the time being. Is there an alternative?

The answer is yes. The best move here is 13/11*/5 because it gives Red a two-way game plan. If neither of the blots is hit he can attempt win by going forwards but if they are hit he can revert to a back game or holding game. The key word here is flexibility. Keep your options open as long as you can.
