Match Play. 4-4 to 7. Should Red redouble? If redoubled, should White take?

If Red loses this game, he is very likely to lose a gammon and therefore the match. And so, he has very little to lose by redoubling in a massively volatile position.

Red is a solid favourite because of those two White checkers trapped by Red’s five-point prime. He could play on for the gammon but actually his position isn’t strong enough to do that. Not redoubling here is a bad error.

Red wins two-thirds of the time from here. It is a redouble for money as well, despite the cube being fully active.
