Match Play. 0-0 to 3. How should Red play 31?

The three plays, (a) 8/4, (b) 9/8, 9/6 and (c) 4/1*, 2/1 are very close in terms of equity and none can be classified as an error.

Play (c) is only viable because of the two blots in White’s home board. However, it does just get the nod because it wins a higher percentage of gammons.

The key question is this: did you see 4/1*, 2/1 as a candidate play?
