Money Play. How should Red play 65?

With only nine checkers in the attack zone after 13/7, 6/1* Red would overplaying the position, especially as there is no immediate need to attack.

Much better is 13/8, 13/7 which leaves only one blot and gets two checkers from the stack on the mid-point into play. This gives Red the options of priming or blitzing game plans

13/7, 6/1* is a blunder.

This type of position occurs often enough that you should learn the correct play and file it away in your memory for your future use.
