It might seem premature to double here but that loose White checker on Red’s 11-pt will generate a lot of gammons. In fact, more than half of Red’s wins are gammons.
The position is very volatile so Red is justified in doubling now. Not to do so is a bad error. Of course, White has a very trivial take.
